Who we are

Our website address is: http://heartforchange.net. You can read more about us here.

What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Comments

When you leave a comment on our site we collect the data you enter in the comments form, as well as your IP and browser user agent string to help detect spam.

When you leave a comment, you can choose to subscribe to notifications of new comments on that post. If you do that we will use your name and email address to send you a message when a new comment is posted. This does not subscribe you to our mail list.

None of these details will ever be shared with any third party, and if you subscribed to new comments, you can unsubscribe at any time.

Contact form

If you contact us through our contact form, your details will be used to respond to your inquiry and nothing more. We keep the information you provide only for as long as required to ensure we have fully responded to your inquiry. You are not added to our mail list.

Cookies

Cookies are small digital signature files that are stored by your web browser that allow your preferences to be recorded when visiting the website. They may be used to track your return visits to our website.

The only place we have enabled cookies is when you submit a comment, so that you do not have to re-enter your details every time you wish to contribute to the discussion. We don’t store that data, and at any time you can delete the cookie data held in your browser (follow your browser’s guide on how to do that).

Social Sharing Buttons

The service we use to enable you to share our content through social media does not use cookies, tracking scripts, or store any user data.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Who we share your data with

MailPoet newsletter & emails

This website sends emails through MailPoet. This service allows us to track opens and clicks on our emails. We use this information to improve the content of our newsletters. No identifiable information is otherwise tracked outside this website except for the email address.

If you have subscribed to our newsletter, we keep your data private and only send you emails which you have signed up to receive. To send you emails, we use the name and email address you provide us. This information is stored by MailPoet. Our site also logs the IP address you used when you signed up for the service, to prevent abuse of the system.

You can unsubscribe or change your subscription at any time using the details in the email.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

What rights you have over your data

If you have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where we send your data

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
